During your first visit, your practitioner will talk with you about your health concerns and how acupuncture might be able to help. You will receive quality treatment in a calm, community setting. Your health information is private and will not be shared with anyone without your express permission.
We use only sterilized, single-use acupuncture needles to prevent infection. The needles are solid and as thin as a human hair, nothing like the hypodermic needles you might be thinking of. They insert and are removed with ease and often you are comfortable enough while they are in place to relax enough to sleep.
Some things to keep in mind for your first appointment:
- Arrive Early. Come 15-20 minutes before your first appointment to read and fill out some important paperwork.
- Wear loose fitting clothing. You’ll need to roll up your sleeves and pants legs so that we can access your lower legs and arms, feet, hands, neck, and head. We have a place next to your recliner where you can put your jacket and belongings.
- Eat something before you come. Please be sure to have eaten within a couple of hours of your treatment. Getting treated on an empty stomach can cause light-headedness.
